Lilia Levin is a painter, illustrator, and designer.  Lilia was born in Russia and moved to the U.S. when she was 17.  She graduated from Barnard Collage with a B.A. and has an M.F.A. from Hunter College.  In many ways, her work combines the influences and inspirations of her motherland and her new, much loved home – New York City.

Lilia’s paintings have appeared in a number of group shows in New York, including A.I.R Gallery.  Her illustrations (many of them pen and ink) have been published in various literary magazines and online publications, including Slate.  She has also illustrated two children’s musical textbooks and designed CD covers, theater posters, etc.  She works in a variety of media: oil, watercolors, pastels, pen and ink, pencil, photography, and computer art.  She combines her art career with that in jewelry design.

A great believer in art education, Lilia has been a volunteer art teacher in NYC public schools with Arts in Action.  She has also run a neighborhood art workshop for kids, Art Next Door.  Lilia lives in NYC with her husband, a writer, and two children.
